Silk Road Back in Order!!!

Silk Road Back in Action

The “New and Improved” Silk Road.

“Faster than a ship, cheaper than a plane, the East Wind won’t be quite the same train that left Yiwu”. On January 2, 2017, the first train began its journey through the Silk Road- transporting goods. The Silk Road was opened in the second century BC; it started in east Chang’an  (Xian today) and ended in the west Mediterranean. The Silk Road was considered a great route because it connected China and the Roman Empire. Until the fourteenth century, when sea route became popular. The popularity of the sea route took away business from the Silk Road and eventually it closed. Six centuries later, the Silk Road is back in action. 7000 miles and 8 countries later, the locomotive finally arrived in London on Wednesday, January 14, 2017. The Silk road was reopened to create new trade opportunities.
