Finding Love on a Game?

The rise of romance gaming: is the perfect boyfriend inside your phone?

Are you single? Well, don’t you worry because there’s an app for that? Forget about tinder, POF, the annoying guys and the amount of time waste on a “relationship” that never happen. People are now investing time and finding romance on gaming app. In Japan, millions of women have virtual boyfriends. Many women in their 20s and 30s have given up on the quest to find love. Women like Ayumi Saito is no longer looking for a real-life boyfriend. Saito has given up because Japanese men open with their feelings and are bad at flattering women. Saito expressed, “When I was tired at the end of the day, before going to sleep, I was so relieved to hear his sweet and gentle words,”. The romance game fills the void that the men fail to do. In 1980s dating/romance game began to gain a lot of attention in Japan. “Japan has the second largest mobile gaming market in the world, generating $6.5 billion of sales in 2016.” Romance game has become a place for women to decompress and destress.
